“And rely upon Allah ; and sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs". (33: 3)

The arabic word tawakkul is derived from و- ک – ل meaning ‘taking for oneself a representative’, and a good representative generally possesses the following four characteristics: Awareness, Trustworthiness, Strength and Sympathy. Such attributes belong only to the creator. Who is well aware about our problems who knows our past and future, seen and unseen and even what a person conceals in their heart. So a person can completely trust him for all his needs and trouble, who has power and might and the most merciful. When person has absolute trust in Allah so does he need anything to do or leave everything on him ? Slave get relaxed by handing over his all sorrow, anxiety and problem to his Master who has absolute power and wisdom to handle it. The hadith below explains the same thing.

Anas ibn Malik reported: A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, should I tie my camel and trust in Allah, or should I leave her untied and trust in Allah?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Tie her and trust in Allah.” (Tirmidhi)

There are several observations which we see in our day to day life but we never look at them insightfully. For example, a farmer who plants a seed, nourishes it with water and sunlight, completes the waiting period ..He is certain that it will bring precious results. Similarly we too should have such tawakkal in Allah. The same way Ibrahim AS had tawakkal in Allah which made the fire turn into cold ice. We all will agree that our life is full of struggle and trials. When a person entrusts fully in Allah then his heart, mind, actions are in automatically in congruence with His obedience and attain peace. He develops a sense of self contentment.

"Put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those that trust [in Him]". [Surah al-Imran 3: 159]

Trust, Patience and Supplication (Tawakkal, sabr and dua) are tools for managing stress which are extremely important in today’s time wherein people are often disheartened and have low self contentment. The concept of tawakkul doesn’t mean sitting idle, doing nothing thinking Allah will sort out everything this kind of tawakkal is an escape from our responsibility which meaningless too. First do your part of work and then put trust in Allah. Though Satan is every time struggling to disconnect our trust or our relation from Allah due to this we often suffer from waswas, Satan’s whispers, that is his strategy so ‪when you experience such type of worry or anxiety about something, be sure that this is form Satan who just want to invade our spirits and bring us down until we are defeated. When you fully trust with all your affairs then satan get disappointed. You win over him that’s the real triumph.

This is such a formula be it any age will be able to rely on. Incidents of crimes, suicides, murder, revenge are reflection of lack of satisfaction. money nor greater economy can buy inner peace. Poverty and the thought of being poor are all weapons of the shaytan. There is a fine line between necessity and greed. We won’t discuss about necessity and luxury as it differs from person to person and we respect that. However greed in all forms and ways is unacceptable. To fulfil ones greed a person can go to limits which could be harmful. Hence faith in Allah and also striving to achieve it in the best of ways is encouraged. Ultimate aim to attain Allah’s pleasure and not His displeasure in any condition.

In modern days where technology are at our finger tips we started to rely more on it which has created distance from our lord. Now it's high time we need to revive our relation with Allah. Let's put our trust (tawakkul) in Allah, tawakkul means that man is completely satisfied in all type of situation of his life, no money, no technology, no power can aid us except Allah and never ever despair of His mercy as well as never feel low or inferior, but instead considers himself victorious by relying on the infinite power of Allah Thus, tawakkul is a hope, inspiring, energetic, motivational and reinforcing factor which increases tolerance and resistance.

Say: "Nothing will befall us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Protector. In Allah let the believers put their trust." [Surah At-Tawbah: 51)

    Ibn Taymiyyah said,

"The more a servant’s expectations are set on the favor and mercy of his Lord as the means to fulfill his needs and repel his misfortunes, the stronger his servitude to his Lord becomes. And in this is freedom from everything other than Him. And since it is the case that the more a person’s hopes are fixed on created beings, the more he is compelled to serve them, it follows that not having hope in them provides independence from them.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said, "The fruit of tawakkul is contentment with Allah’s decree. Whoever leaves his affairs to Allah and then is accepting of what he is given has truly relied on Allah."

Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the lord of the Great Throne. (Quran, 9:129)
